On Saturday, 16 August 2025, Resilience Society hosted its Summer Picnic 2025 at Bell’s Field, Cork City, from 2:30pm to 4:30pm. It was an afternoon filled with sunshine, laughter, storytelling, and community spirit.

This annual event brings people together to share stories of resilience, celebrate diversity, and strengthen community bonds.

🌸 Inspiring Stories from Guests

Helen’s Journey

One of our special guests, Helen, is currently receiving treatment for cancer. She spoke courageously about her personal journey – balancing the challenges of cancer treatment with her mental health journey. Her openness reminded us all of the importance of resilience, hope, and mutual support.

Mohamed’s Heroism

We also welcomed Mohamed from Morocco, who became a hero in Cork just days before the picnic when he rescued a woman who fell into the River Lee. His incredible act of bravery, inspired everyone at the event. Mohamed’s story is a shining example of courage, compassion, and community spirit. Irish examiner
